Many years ago Eastern Cape wildlife were abundant in the area, unfortunately the animal numbers quickly dropped due to uncontrollable hunting during the 1900’s. However, nowadays there are a variety of wildlife game farms which boast a wide range of species such as leopard, elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion and buck. As a malaria-free zone, the animals can also be viewed without any worry of mosquito’s.
If you are an avid bird watcher, the Eastern Cape wildlife will not leave you disappointed either. Endangered species such as the Black Oyster Catcher and Grey Sun Bird are all local inhabitants to the area that you are sure to spot flying about during your stay.
