Port Elizabeth for fun

Port Elizabeth is known as the ‘friendly city’ or the ‘windy city’ and is situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. However, it should be called the sunny city as it receives more sunshine than any other coastal city in South Africa. The beaches are ideal for all holiday beach fun, water sports and surfing. The city and the Eastern Cape Province are steeped in history and many historical landmarks and museums are open to visitors. Port Elizabeth also has many game parks including the Addo Elephant Park. This is the ideal location for a summer vacation where there are a variety of activities and you will be welcomed with warmth and friendliness.

Eastern Cape game reserves

The Eastern Cape has bush has been spared some of the large scale farming that mars the South African landscape and therefore one can still encounter wildlife in settings much like the original bushveldt.

The flora and fauna of the Eastern Cape can be found in pristine settings in game reserves dotted throughout the province with perhaps the most well known being the Addo Elephant Park, about one hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth and home to 450 of these magnificent grey beasts.

The province is also home to the Mountain Zebra National Park which hosts 350 of the pajama clad horses, or rather Cape Mountain Zebra as they are properly known.
